Tomorrow is Thanksgiving! I finally reached my 60 lbs. today. Took a lot longer this time around, but I reached it. Looking forward to my next milestone. Many things went into the slow down for me, for the most part I got off track some days and I just haven’t been as physically active as I need to be. I have to remind myself and set aside time to get up and move. I spend a lot of my days at a computer.
Matt and I have been working tirelessly on his BBQ catering business – Stolze’s Smokehouse. We have been blessed with great opportunities to expand and grow the business and we welcome every opportunity with open arms. This Thanksgiving we will be working for the first part of the day with pickups and drop offs of smoked turkeys we have received orders for. The second half of the day we will use to celebrate all that we are thankful for. But before I get to the thankful list – I want to focus on our plan of action for our Thanksgiving meal.
We met with our health coach today and signed a permission slip. We recognized that we may want to have something that’s off plan tomorrow and that’s okay, but knowing its for a meal, for a moment and then we plan to get right back on track. It may seem like a silly thing to do, but often times its in these moments that some may not get back on track. Some may feel guilty about over indulging and revert back to old habits. Making this written plan of action for ourselves is to remind us of the choices we have about what eat during the holidays.
Normally we have the whole family over and Matt cooks a large turkey with multiple sides (corn, mashed potatoes, green bean casserole, sweet potato casserole, rolls) and I’ll make the stuffing. There would be desserts and appetizers for days. This year as we focus on providing for others we chose not to have a large gathering. We are deciding to stay mostly on plan with turkey and roasted vegetables, but are choosing to indulge on some mashed potatoes and gravy and we both feel good with that decision, because it’s what is best for us. We have weight goals we want to reach before the end of the year and we want to make sure we stay focused.
2021 has brought with it so much we can be thankful for – our health, our faith, our love for each other and those around us, our family, our jobs, this blog, our community, our weight loss journey through the Moxifit program and being introduced to Traci Brown (our health coach) with Ideal Health of Boerne. Although that’s not our entire list its these reminders that keep us going everyday. We are thankful and grateful to be able to share our thoughts and stories with each and everyone of you. The best part of this is we have a story to share. We hope you all take a moment to think about all you are thankful for. Please know we are thankful for you and would love to hear more from you.
If you’d like to share your thoughts please comment some of the things you are thankful for. Happy Thanksgiving!
Wishing all of you a very a happy Thanksgiving!

I LOVE your focus and dedication to not only your journey but to the people around you!! Today is a day to celebrate how thankful we are for our people…what better way to do that than memorable conversations! I also love the acknowledgment that you don’t have to restrict yourself today but rather adjust your thinking so that you are intentional with what you eat! This isn’t a “diet” it’s a way of life!! I’m SO thankful for you two and continually look forward to our visits! Have an amazing Thanksgiving!!
